Why would Roseman structure a contract in 2012 that he didn't intend to honor just two years later? I can buy that it might have been a sort of "show me" deal. Only 15 mil signing bonus on 50+ million overall. Well, Desean showed them that he earned the money. At that point you either restructure with more guarantees and lower cap hit or carry on with the way you, yourself, structured the deal.

According to this link, Jackson looks like his compensation is right in line with his production compared to his peers. Plus, Jackson is a willing participant in special teams when most of the other guys on the list are not.
