  • Regarding Kelly managing grown men

I think it's fair to point out that he got an awful lot of veterans to buy into a brand new program last year (smoothies, different practice days, etc). There were a lot of skeptics but the players bought in. To the extent there is actual evidence as to whether he can manage grown men, it points to him being able to do so.

I think this has to either be about money or something deeper with Jackson that we don't really know about. I don't see Kelly as the kind of guy who is afraid to deal with a player. Maybe he values him a lot less than many of us do, but that's a whole other issue.

Since we are all speculating, I think this has everything to do with him crowing about a new contract 2 hours after a surprisingly successful season (for the team), 1 year after signing a contract worth a lot of dollars.

Love his play or not, guy like that making a bad impression on young guys on a rebuilding team.... can't have that around.

    Too bad really.

The only problem with the "something we don't know happened" (which I have also wondered) is that Desean Jackson is an open book. He has a lot of presence on social media and such. His antics are well documented. He can't go out unnoticed. The documentary last year (not sure how many people saw it -- I did) There isn't much about him that we don't know. The guy's not exactly discreet.

Fer crissakes! He didn't crow. He answered a direct question - ONCE! What is it with you people exaggerating something that didn't actually happen.

This is how myth turns into reality.

I mean those people who have to exaggerate to make a weak point.

For sure. The whole thing is so bizzare to me that I keep coming back to that. I guess it either comes down to money or Kelly just not wanting him. Right now Kelly has earned the benefit of the doubt from me but if they let him go and the team suffers because either the loss of production hurts them or they have to allocate resources to offense that could have been used to improve the d then that might change.
