Chip Didn't Want Byrd

Lurie told the press today that if Chip wanted Byrd, they would have spent whatever on him and got him.

"No one would know the safety better than him (Chip)"

I wonder if he didn't want Ward, another Oregon safety, either. Safety still needs work, one way or another.

No idea. Byrd is one story, but Ward went to Denver. As much as I love the Birds and hate Peyton Manning, Denver is closer to a title than the Eagles.

Who knows if they offered Ward something and ultimately he wanted to play in Denver?
