  • Condolences to Mick Jagger

In reading about the loss of his longtime GF to suicide, I am reminded of the time he took the old JFK stadium stage (just a turkey carcass kick away from where the Zubus parks) wearing an Eagles jersey. Im pretty sure it was the Tattoo You tour.

The Stones have always had a fondness for Philly. They kicked off the Exile on Main St tour here, and the Sticky Fingers show at the Spectrum with Stevie Wonder opening for them was easily in the top three concerts I ever saw.

Old farts: can you name whose jersey it was? #21...no fair cheating...HINT he was a fringe guy but popular and visible scrutinized more than most for a unique reason.

    Sciarra, right?

      ding! ding! ding!

He played QB for vermiel at UCLA and some said that was the only reason he was on the roster. I remember him as the holder, and emergency QB but I think his listed position was DB.

Yea, I remember him being a safety. And a fucking great concert.

          John Sciarra

He was also the up man in punt formations and they often would direct snap it to him. Seems like they ran that play 5 times a season and most were for first downs. It got to the point where you almost expected it. Very innovative stuff for back in the day....
Hopes that were high in the heat of September ... can wilt and die in the chill of November. November can be cold and grey, November can be surly with bitter rain upon the world and winter coming early.

I wonder how Mick Jagger got that jersey. I didn't think Fringe jerseys were produced in 1981.

Right. I'm just surprised that jersey existed in the first place. It would be like personalozing a Dorenbos jersey pre-internet, or maybe the Bartrum jersey that I always wanted.

I'm impressed that you remember the Exile tour opener. Must have been a madhouse.
