Baseball is going to destroy itself with these contracts. Most ballparks don't sellout now, but prices will continue to rise to pay off these huge contracts.
Really the teams who give out these contracts do it because of demand. People will go elsewhere if the Tigers don't field a good team. Teams like KC can afford not to give out big contracts because fans show up either way.
