  • Four teams talking to Jackson's Agent, per Adam Schefter

Schefter also stated that Desean Jackson is "in no way affiliated" with gang members. He said the story in NJ.com only indicates that Jackson knows "only one" criminal. Basically, he said that, outside of the news report, which was very vague, nobody is making any further claims, especially the Eagles, because Jackson could easily win a slander lawsuit against any offending party.

Basically, Jackson will be with another team quickly and the primary reason Jackson is not on the Eagles is because Chip Kelly doesn't like him.

If this is true, its the Eagles doing business like the last regime.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

The smear campaign was in full motion. The articles, though, included investigators saying that Jackson was not involved or a witness to anything...

it sure seems like at least Kelce doesn't like him.

                Smear campaign

"First I would like to thank the Eagles organization, the Eagles fans and the city of Philadelphia for my time in Philly. I would also like to thank coach Andy Reed for bringing me in. Secondly, I would like to address the misleading and unfounded reports that my release has anything to do with any affiliation that has been speculated surrounding the company I keep off of the field. I would like to make it very clear that I am not and never have been part of any gang. I am not a gang member and to speculate and assume that I am involved in such activity off the field is reckless and irresponsible. I work very hard on and off the field and I am a good person with good values. I am proud of the accomplishments that I have made both on and off the field. I have worked tirelessly to give back to my community and have a positive impact on those in need. It is unfortunate that I now have to defend myself and my intentions. These reports are irresponsible and just not true . I look forward to working hard for my new team. God Bless."

Gains a bit more cred with his statement.

                      Teams will be methodical

Its gonna take awhile for other teams to sort through all of the background info
I'd guess it will take a week or more before he signs... and any team interested is going to want a sit-down with him before inking a deal

Every team should be checking him out. It would be foolish not to do so.

some of my boys here in Cleveland

are talking about the Browns going after him, then taking Sammy Watkins at 4. Jackson, Josh Gordon, and Sammy Watkins. Damn.
