Chip, Howie, and most of the players in the locker room hate Desean Jackson.

They hate him, and most, if not all, of them are happy he's gone.

Is it a good sign that Chip held them all together last year and managed Jackson's personality and got good production out of him?

Could they have continued to do so this season and for the duration of his contract?

I'm wondering if there's no other choice and this gang stuff makes it easier to swallow.

Not that it's definitive, but those interviews with Herremans, Cole and Macklin were lukewarm at best in their defense of Jackson.

You really think Chip hated him?

I don't get it. What could DJ have done last year to make Chip hate him? He had a great year. I blame Lurie for this smear campaign... he's the common thread in all this.

That's what I'm thinking. And Kelce was less supportive than those. On top of that, Avant alluded to him being a problem for a good portion of last season.

I think it just wasn't going to work, and they had to get rid of him before he made the work environment shitty for the others.

Oh, but Ref assured us they were selectively edited to sound negative.

No one is rushing to defend Jackson. When the shaved chimp was fucking the Bucs, players spoke up.

No diccing around ... for real, serious ... I watched those clips last night on Comcast online, and actually did a WTF? when I saw how unsupportive they appeared.

I didn't want to believe it, but I actually started thinking he was gone after watching them.

So is Desean Jackson who has a history of bad press - especially about his attitude and work ethic.

They probably knew this was happening. Its basic politics to release unpopular news after the Friday morning News cycle.

I was right there with you, but I think Slizz has it right. You might have gotten lukewarm support of Jackson, but no one seemed to question the "best decision for the eagles" type statement. more than 50% of the lockerroom had to hate his guts

                      Maybe

Just don't think there's enough there in one year for Chip to "hate" him. But who knows, perhaps he was a cancer in the locker room

Everything Kelly has done or said is based on a pragmatic, calculated approach.

I don't see why this would be any different.

Judging by Jackson's declaration two days ago on Twitter...

where he said he would be back with the team, here is what I can imagine may have happened:

Chip confronted Desean with whatever evidence he had. Jackson denied any gang involvement. Chip independently confirmed his information as being correct and simply cut Desean for lying to him.

Obviously this is all speculation. nothing that I have seen thus far ties Jackson to a gang.

Assuming Chip made the call here

I'm not so sure about that
