So what was up with the phone call from Jackson to Kelly earlier in the week

that apparently had Jackson believing he was staying? Why even call Jackson and do anything that might give him that impression if you knew you were going to cut him?

The only thing I can think of is maybe Kelly wanted to judge Jackson one last time before the final decision.

I mistakenly referred to the call as a twitter post. He seemed to indicate he felt that his explanation was sufficient for Chip. Obviously miscalculated that one.
