I get them saving 6 mil

they still did not benefit by doing it NOW. They could have potentially got rid of his salary, and got some type of draft compensation. If they couldn't move him by then, it would have made more sense to cut him. They look like chumps.

Like someone said elsewhere, let's see what he gets paid ... could be nobody wanted the salary ... so they cut him early and can spin that it's because they aren't cunts.

He will probably take a one year deal somewhere for 5 mil who knows, that doesn't change the fact that a team could have gotten desperate in the draft. Even if they swapped picks in any round and just used djax to move up 2 fucking spots, it's still something. Cutting him now is ridiculous.

Cutting him now is incompetent. Smearing him as you cut him is what's ridiculous.

I don't think so. The fact that Jackson is one of the best players in the NFL at any position, you don't trade a guy like that without reason. Any trading partner would be suspicious.

This is the quote I want to find. I know I saw it on ESPN. If that's from the Eagles, it's a smear pure and simple.

Should be easy then. I'd like to see it as well.

Won't be searchable if it was on a chyron on the broadcast and not posted as text on the internet. You would have had to of recorded the broadcast to have a record of it in that case.

I'm pretty sure it was ESPN "quoting" there own guy (Schefter) as gospel ... something they do a lot to make them look like the scoopers de tutti scoopers.

As opposed to actually quoting an Eagle front office member.

I think this is where is came from.

The Eagles' decision to cut ties with one of the most electrifying players in club history comes after the team uncovered information about Jackson's off-field connections and activities, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. In addition, the source said, the Eagles decided to release Jackson rather than trade him to another team that might be unaware of the info.

One thing for sure, they're going to clam up about it now.

Thing is I can actually imagine an Eagle front office member saying something like that.

So one quote on an ESPN scroll that has not been repeated elsewhere is to be taken as gospel?

Like I said, if the quote is real it should be easy to find.

Did I say it was to be taken as gospel? No. So stop with that nonsense.

I'm just saying that it is possible that such a quote exists but is not searchable.

Thanks for the education of how television recordings work. You know my point.

I'm sure lots of quotes exist. I'll bet someone somewhere said the Eagles cut him because X or did this because of Y.

When it shows up in one ESPN scroll but can't really be found elsewhere except possibly it was a quote from a reporter than it's not so impressive.

Like I said - if the Eagles said that then it should be a quote that can be found easily. It's 2014.

Wait a minute! Isn't this part of the reason we got to this point in the first place? I mean, the Eagles have been leaking shit about Desean for months and, all of a sudden, now that the maelstrom of bullshit is simmering, the credibility of such backroom utterances is being questioned.

Fuck that. Where was the outrageous demand for source checking when that blogging tool of philly.com was endlessly bashing Desean's character, via unnamed sources, the past three months?
