  • the arrogance of Kelly is that...

...he seems to believe ...strongly... that the genius of his offense trumps the talent of the personnel executing it. Before the cut actually took place he said words to that effect: "our offense is not predicated by any one player" or some such shit.

He always said that from Day One when he was questioned about wanting a running QB over Foles and said he adjusted his coaching to the talent at hand. It seemed refreshing and welcome coming off the square peg-round hole approach of Reid (FF).

But this move shows that attitude cuts in a different direction.

including myself, doubted he could be a pro coach. Why not give him the benefit of the doubt before condemning this move.
      You think its a joke!?!

        fuck you

dont tell me how to feel or what to say.

NOBODY on this board supported Kelly more when as you admit, that position was in the minority.

        that's fucking why.

          OK that was harsh

but in my mind as one of his most ardent supporters, I have as much right as anyone to take this view.

sorry for the fuck you and I take it back.

Again seems to me he's following his idol, Belichick. But Belichick has Brady. If Foles is another Brady than Kelly can do whatever he wants with the other personnel on offense and it won't matter. But that's far from settled.

I'm in agreement with the idea of you can't really judge getting rid of Desean, Kelly earned a little something (my opinion) and I'll give him some trust.

THAT SAID... there is NO EXCUSE to just release him before draft day... surely he had value on draft day of SOME kind.

You do not have to apologize to me.

I know who you are and a Fuck You from Irish George is not very relevant.

                  ok then

actually you are probably the first non-troll on the board (if not, then one of the very few) I have ever told "fuck you."

But youre right, its just words on a message board. Words I regret typing, hence the apology, which stands.

I will state (again) that if it comes out DJax committed or is implicated in some really bad thing, then Chip needed to do what he did. But until that comes to light it seems like a simple case of a coach who doesn't like a player.

Just can't see it that way Georgie

For the Iggles to dump Jackson, he must be one very poor citizen.

It's the only thing that makes sense to me, but I'm confused as anyone about this.

Perhaps the FO didn't say more for fear of retribution in the form of a defamation lawsuit; or maybe they're doing Jackson a small favor for the years of good service and just keeping mum.

Either way, my money is on a very bad experience in Jackson's past.

                        that would make sense...

...at some level if in fact, that is the case that he did something very very wrong. However, for me it would have been better form, and airtight legally (correct me if Im wrong lawyers) to attribute the move to a personnel policy issue. that implies something along the lines of what you are saying but does not indict the man, violate his employee rights or contribute to a "smear."

To only say "after careful consideration we decided to part ways" raises more questions then it answers.

Sounds like he knows some things about DJ, and is worried about him, why else would he offer to help him to make decisions that could affect his career? It was a strange couple of answers he gave when asked about DJ, and given what Vick went through (and still does) who better to see his friend heading in what sounded like a bad direction. Something tells me there is something bigger about this, but I don't expect the team to reveal anything, too many legal problems if they do. NE has been mum on Hernandez since releasing him, not the same situation, but likely a contributing factor to this action. The one thing a team does not want these days is for something bad to go down with the guy still on the roster.
