  • Confidential to Slag!

    Two questions.

    1. Do you believe that someone in the Eagles front office told Schefter that they didn't want to trade their problem to some other team (or something along that line)?

    2. Do you believe Jackson would still be an Eagle if he was only making two million a year?

I'll hang up and listen to your answers.

    1. Don't know. Be pretty fucking stupid if they did. EDITED TO ADD: Assuming he does not actually have an undisclosed serious issue.

    2. The hypothetical doesn't make any sense ... if he was only making 2 million at this point of his career he wouldn't be as good a player ... which changes the equation.

And if he was a headache and a 2 million dollar player, the answer is no.

agree it was pretty fucking stupid. i doubt schefter made it up but i also doubt roseman was happy to see it. probably something they bounced around as justification but never meant for publication. some front office grunt's mistake.

i also think most likely that jackson would have been gone for the gang stuff no matter what the contract. that means you somewhat agree it wasn't really financial.

Wait a minute ... if you think the smear is made up, then it's follows that you think it was nothing but financial.
