  • Why the f*cking SMEAR CAMPAIGN?

If DeSean Jackson doen't fit in to what you trying to do, fine. Cut him and OWN it.

I always thought it was Joe Banner who was responsible for this sort of thing. Maybe I am wrong.

FO has said nothing. Its all speculation from the media.

I'm sure we'll hear the details once he signs with a team. Releasing any information before that and affecting his contract status may draw a lawsuit- especially if there were serious allegations for his release.

You really think these hacks from NJ.com independently researched DeSean Jackson?

After watching the national media report numerous false claims about the lost Malaysian airline, I take anything the media reports with a grain of salt.

Investigative journalism has gotten lazy- they refer to the internet for their sources. They would rather be the first to report something than ensuring the information as credible or accurate. While NJ.com may have received information on the gang ties investigation, we have no idea where the information came from.

I think Chip has some huge balls to simply let go of an elite playmaker that thrived in his offense. That said, I will give him the benefit of the doubt until the information is shared on his release.

Sports media is now on the same level as news media. No such thing as a smear campaign these days, it's all bull shit. We aren't supposed to know the truth, we are just supposed to be pissed about it and yap constantly on social media...that's what this country is now all social media and no fact.

            Agreed

I can see jumping all over the FO and Chip about releasing him but in no way have they smeared him...Their lack of information is most disturbing.

I don't think it's too far fetched to think that a reporter could see some Instagram photos and put the pieces together. It wouldn't take that much digging if your recognize someone high profile in the pictures (ie someone awaiting trial for murder).

I agree. I personally don't think the nj.com article was leaked as an intentional smear. However, if the eagles don't address the article, then the article becomes the de facto official narrative. That has the same effect as a smear campaign, and the FO is smart enough to know it.

The story broke right before the weekend, so it's excusable that there isn't some sort of official statement yet. If Monday comes and goes and there's still nothing, then they are purposefully staying quiet to allow the article to tell their story for them....which is basically the same thing as a smear campaign.

Monday is going to be very telling about what kind of organization these guys are running.

Without the smear Roseman is completely incapable of getting any compensation for Jackson for one of two reasons: One, he is awful at negotiating with other teams. Two, he signed Jackson to such a terrible contract that even coming off a Pro Bowl worthy, career year, and entering his prime, no team would consider him at the excessive rate Roseman agreed to pay him two years earlier.

Either way Roseclown needs Jackson to look like the John Dillinger of the Crips so that he doesn't look like the Ruben Amaro of the Eagles.
