  • BGNs take---was it Kelly or Roseman?

The upshot of the article is that Roseman may have been the trigger man. The main reasins seem to be that he remembered when Jackson dogged it during the 2011 season and that when Jackson made a reference to his contract after the season and that "I think my agent has a great plan" he wasnt willing to put up with another season of shenanigans.

He also opines how Roseman took back a lot of GM power once Reid was fired and that in the past, Reid didnt listen to him during the draft.

Now Kelly would have to be onboard with that as well as Lurie but after all the locker room stuff thats been talked about I dont think Kelly squawked.

And as I said before you have to wonder why none of his teammates came to his defense. Even Vick gave him lukewarm support in his interview when he signed with the Jets.

that is simply not the case

the quotes I read in the NY tabloids had Vick lobbying for the Jetbags to sign him.

And if Kelly wanted him he would be here.

Exactly. Vick appears to be lobbying Jackson to play for the Jets.

Vick clearly said that maybe beung traded or released would be the wakeup call he needed to grow up. To me that isnt exactly a ringing endorsement.

Agreed. I don't think Roseman is trumping Kelly on those kind of player decisions right now.

what better way to encourage his new employers

and to me...when a QB wants a receiver it means he will be ringing up numbers...I would not call that lukewarm

That's what I been saying. It all starts with Kelly not wanting Desean on the team. There is no way Roseman is dictating to his $35 million coach what players he can and can't have. If Kelly says Desean stays, he stays. It's that simple.

It has to be noted that this has nothing to do with the timing of the move or the lack of compensation for the asset. It is my belief that the big difference between Reid and Kelly is that once Kelly makes a judgment on a player he leaves it wholly up to the front office to either obtain or release that player.
