  • So let me get this straight

We RELEASED, with no compensation, a 3 time Pro Bowler, still under contract, coming off the best statistical season of his career????

    WHHHHHHHHHAT THE HELL??

And now he's going to sign with The Redskins????

I feel like I'm on crazy pills! How does this happen? Has it EVER happened?

And the team says nothing about it. Radio silence.

Oh and wait a minute....The Seattle F*CKING Seahawks are Super Bowl Champions.

And he's already 27. Who wants to be tied down to that?

They would have been better off trading him for a seventh round pick next year instead of letting him sign in the division. Or in the conference for that matter. Maybe nobody wanted his contract.

I predict they move up in the draft and grab a WR to try to make us forget about this mess. Won't work for me. I want Dix or Pryor. No one else will soothe my anger!

He hasn't signed with the Skins yet. If you read PFT.com, it looks like his people are leaking info that it's a done deal and the Skins are saying it is not. And what the hell gives the Skins "the inside track to win the division"? You still have to have an offensive line to give RG3 a chance to throw the ball and you still have to have an effective defense to stop the other team.

Is it much different than the Eagles letting go of a Pro Bowl player who was 25 and the Skins signed him to anchor their defense???

I was reading the Post this morning and one of their writers said you would think the Skins would learn by now in taking the Eagles leftovers.

It's all about the contract. Packwest provided this link showing cap numbers for every team. Analyze the numbers. I think it gives a good indication on how teams value positions.

In general, I do believe teams are deflating the value of the WR position, much like the RB over the past decade. There are a lot of ways to skin a cat, but it comes down to how individual teams want to allocate their resources.

That's what I'm lost on. The eagles held a high paying, no guarantees contract. Wouldn't we be ok with a 7th for a potential receiver pending a new deal and/or just cut him.

yeah, that whole thing doesn't make sense. why not get something for him? that contract must have been so bad that no one was willing to take it.

well, if you see another team sign him for close to 10 mil a year, something won't add up...

Washington has one of the few left tackles in the league better than Jason Peters.

I don't understand. Weren't you ranting about Jackson wanting more money just a few days ago?

True, especially if you factor in age and injuries. The problem last season wasn't Trent though, it was the interior. O-line couldn't stop an A-gap blitz to save their lives. They haven't really done much to address that either.

How is DeSean on bubble screens? Might be one of the few routes we have time for.
