I think they were a playoff team without him, did you see how they ran the ball and blocked? That had nothing to do with Jackson.

      whatever...the point remains

people here were ripping the guy and talking about dumping him before any of that came out.

          Not really because.....

...in the playoffs the referees would be more likely to swallow their whistles than in the regular season. (not wanting to f-up when the stakes are high) That would make it easier to push the diminutive receiver around in the playoffs.

Look, it's a team game and that's ALOT of money to drop on one player when you're going to have to give Foles a big contract. (provided he stays the course here in 2014)

HE DIDN'T DEMAND A NEW CONRACT!!!!!

For fuck's sake HE WAS ASKED A QUESTION BY A REPORTER AND RESPONDED!

Where the hell is everyone getting that he asked for a new contract?

Would he have liked more money? Well, duh...who wouldn't?

i do think that was money and chip didn't like him or his attitude. i didn't know that he got kicked out of a practice...or else i don't remember it....but i read it on another board.

Don't you guys take any comfort in knowing that 30 other teams took a pass on Jackson ?
They all took a pass on trading for him IF they were worried about a bidding war....
They all took a pass on him as a Free Agent too....hmmmm

2 times around every front office in the NFL took a pass except one. One team lead by an idiot and known for foolish spending on FAs. That's it.
That's the entire stampede for his services, little Danny Snyder.

What should that tell you ?

Rip on the Eagles FO all you like, but know this: the other teams aren't idiots and they all did the exact same thing as your front office didn't they ?

Actions always speak louder than words and the actions/inactions of an entire league should offer you some insight ....

                    They gave him away.

To me that's the biggest issue.

Miracle of the Meadowlands II. The look on Tom Coughsufferer's face and the way he went ballistic.

But what the fuck. I'm sure Riley Kooper can return punts now and be just as effective.

Huh. It's probably why they traded for Sproles. Because ANYONE with a CLUE knows that RILEY FUCKING KOOPER would be SHIT on an end around and has all the return ability of a piece of shit.

                      Are you serious?

Those statements were in RESPONSE to a QUESTION. He didn't just out and out start demanding more money. Some reporter poked the cat and the guy gave him an honest answer.

Good God wipe the kelly green sploog off your chin.

                        I thought he said

Just to be clear about the Desean Jackson punt return angle. He hasn't been all that impressive in punt returns since 2010. No TDs and 5.1 and 6.7 yards per returns in 2013 and 2011 respectively. Johnson averaged 3 more yards than Jackson last year.

So the argument that part of his value is on the return team isn't very solid. Kelly probably noticed that as well.

He returned one this year but it was called back. Wasn't Johnson doing pr duties for a while?

They split and Johnson only played in 13 games. Jackson had 14 returns and Johnson had 12 returns. I can't recall how they split them though.

It could have just been overall special teams problems as well that lowered his numbers. They just consistently dropped from his monster year in 2009.

Yeah... I don't think he's any less dangerous with the ball than he was in 09. He's kind of a homerun hitter with pr's. He may run backwards and lose ten occasionally, he might also bring one back and it wouldn't surprise anyone.
