This article "might" have some weight if Darren Sproles was white, and I am pretty sure that whatever WR is taken in the draft will not be a WASP.

This is exactly why the Eagles need to explain their stance on DeSean

because if you're willing to let people think that you'll support and give a raise to a White player who spewed out the word nigger like it was nothing, but you'll cut a Black player who you think might have gang ties, that's gonna go bad for you, especially in a league that's about 80% Black. Contrary to popular belief, these players have standards and convictions, and I PROMISE YOU, the Black players are talking about that behind the scenes. That's not being racist, that's not putting down Riley Cooper, that is a stone cold fact. That's reality.

To me, the Cooper raise argument went out the door last season when they decided to keep him. He got a raise because he played...period.

It's no longer an accusation when there is video evidence to support the claim. To anyone who is black Riley Cooper is a racist and he will be for a very long time to come.

I'm not disagreeing with you that IF the FO would just come out and say DJ was left go because he no longer fit in, whether that be work ethics, money, or locker room chemistry I do think it would settle most of this.

BUT, I also see a tightening if you will around the WHOLE league about this sort of stuff, ever since the Hernandez story broke.

My own personal belief is that the commish has sent an edict to the teams about this very issue, and I think it is entirely possible that DJ just basically got caught up in the dragnet, wrong time, wrong place, kind of deal.

And I do believe that he was 100% sincere in his apology and his actions afterward. I believe that growing up, Riley Cooper heard that word a lot, so it was just sort of second nature when he said it. That doesn't mean he's a racist. I'm just talking about the PERCEPTION of the Eagles FO when it comes to whom this current regime will and won't support. The Vick support came from the last regime. They've cut Desean while allowing the nation to think he's some sort of gangbanger. They also cut Avant, who was reportedly one of the team's best locker room guys and one of the few who could keep Jackson in line. I'm not saying that the perception is right, but it is real.

Would it really be that hard to have some intern type up a press release saying that they in no way believe that DeSean Jackson is gang affiliated and released him because of reason x, y, or z ?

I want to know why they cut a guy who showed that he can absolutely thrive in this system, and who would have been a big factor in helping this team get that trophy. Now they've given a division rival more firepower and the opportunity to get their fourth trophy. That alone is worthy of an explanation from the team.

Support of Vick continued under Kelly ... they signed him to a one year deal when most thought he'd be cut loose for Foles ... then he had a qb competition and then named him the starter.

I remember when Kelly came in, it was a big surprise that they re-signed Vick.

I'm so sick of this racist angle BS. They cut him because he was overpaid, lazy, pain in the ass. I'm not happy about it. He was my favorite Eagle player of the last five years.
