  • Tampa cuts WR Mike Williams

JK, they got a pick for him because they aren't incompetent.

    BOOM #2!!!

Here's the skinny on Mike Williams

arrest, lawsuits stemming from his conduct at a rental home and a stab wound in the thigh that was the result of an attack by his brother. The first two things led new Bucs coach Lovie Smith to say that Williams’ pattern of behavior was disturbing, the first sign that a parting of the ways might be in the cards for a player who signed a six-year extension with Tampa before last season
    .

Yet they were able to get at least a 6th rounder.

Banner might have been a dick, but Roseman is proving to be incompetent.

Mike Williams actually did stuff off the field. Jackson didn't. Not sure I expect you to know the difference.

He has a salary of $1.6 million this year. Hardly comparable.

Tampa said these things about Williams. The Eagles said nothing about Jackson... Not that I would expect you to know the difference.

Giving a player who is apparently a team cancer and quitter and gangbanger an untradeable contract is also a sign of incompetence.

Jackson didn't? So admitting on quitting on plays in 2012 isn't on the field?

How much of that extension is due to Roseman's incompetence vs. Reid and Banner? The two guys most in charge of the Eagles when he got that extension have been gone for a while now.

Complete bullshit from a consistently inaccurate source.

                        Those pesky facts

They make Twerp's ridiculous proclomations blow up in his face all the time!

“You want to always keep your really good players under contract. That’s the way it’s always been. It’s been draft and lets extend them and re-sign them. It just doesn’t always happen that’s how it works. We feel fortunate to have a player of DeSean Jackson’s magnitude on our football team and I think the future is bright for DeSean Jackson,”

Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman said in February of 2012.

Banner let the cat out of bag because he couldn’t help but make his side of the arguments that have been going on in the Nova Care Complex be known publicly. Lurie’s life long friend communicated his side of the story in an interview with the Boston Globe.

In his office that is still inside the Eagles’ NovaCare facility, former team president Joe Banner is having a good laugh. Jackson received his $47 million extension, in good measure, because Banner had his contract power usurped. Banner never would have done that deal.

Former Eagles President Joe Banner, July 2012.

Ok, so Roseman is at fault for the contract details from the standpoint of being the GM. I couldn't remember if Banner still made that decision or not. Reid is still responsible for wanting to keep Jackson.

You absolved Joe Banner of my accusation. That puts the responsibility more squarely on Reid.

No, it means one of the two men responsible for this contract IS still here. It doesn't go from 50/50 to 100/0 just because you would otherwise be wrong. That's not how facts work no matter how much you want them to. An expected punk response from a punk.

From a money standpoint of did it make it harder for the Eagles to trade Jackson in year 3 - Roseman can be blamed. From the standpoint of why did they extend Jackson in the first place, that's Reid's decision. Just like it's Kelly's decision to get rid of him.

                              Edit.

Thanks for clarifying the punk aspect of your response.
