They don't have to say shit. You want to hold them accountable? Cancel your tickets. Just get the entire rest of the fan base to go along with you, and BOOM! Change.
I'm not singling you out here, dude, but the notion that the owners owe the fans or even their players explanations when they want to do something is crazy. That's the way the rules are written.
I couldn't agree more with this. I love fans who think they are owed an explanation. This isn't the government doing the wrong things with your income tax dollars, this is free market business. They owe you nothing and if you don't like it then don't spend your money on the product.
Have they explained anything to you over those 40 years?
Dumping DJacc is like Apple's new IOS. You don't like it? Who cares, they're doing it anyway. People won't stop buying iPhones and people won't stop pumping cash into the Eagles.
So we can sit around and say they manufactured an article to nj.com, but that's just speculation by confused fans. What's not confusing is they don't give a flying fuck about replaceable consumers.
Except that it's not a lie. He has friends from his youth who are in a gang. He might still be friends with them. So what? I would advise you to take a step back and familiarize yourself with where he grew up and what his environment likely consisted of. Has he done anything illegal? If not, that's guilt by association and that's bullsh*t.
Is he an active gang.member? Probably not but to say he has no ties to a gang is a lie. Maybe I am wrong but I dont believe the article said he was out killing people in the gang or even accused him of a crime. Just that he has gang affiliations which he has admitted although not in those words
Honestly, if I were a billion dollar company, and that article came out about one of my employees, I wouldn't say anything. There would just be a ripple effect that would open just give me many more opportunities to say the wrong thing.

Absolutely. And even if you say everything right there is the possibility that you don't know the whole story and end up looking bad when more info comes out.
WTF are "gang ties" or "gang affiliations?" It obviously implies more than simply knowing someone ina gang. The implication is that you are a gangster yourself (or at least that you engage in nefarious activities). What if you had a friend or an uncle who did something bad and went to prison. How would you feel if people publicly started saying that you were affiliated with or had ties to a known felon? Please don't insult my intelligence with an answer other than that you would think it was f*cked up.
And if true, the team should have just owned up to it. Instead we're getting anonymous quotes. Some are likely from players and others from staff. Who knows? It doesn't take much insight to recognize that Jackson is immature. If his conduct was so detrimental to the team, he should have been suspended. He wasn't. My take on that is his conduct never really rose to the level of insubordination. Just whiney diva crap from a position where the league is full of divas. Kelly ought to get used to having an occasional diva on the team if he wants good WR's. So should the Eagles players. If they think Kelly's magical system will shine with just Riley Coopers on the field, they're delusional.
Your argument is invalid, the assertion that you have to have PITA DIVAs on your team to achieve success, because everyone else does, in even the most simplistic rules of logic is not supportable. The best damn receiver in the league, Calvin Johnson, is not even close to being like that, nor is Larry Fitzgerald...so you can get highly talented and committed guys who are team players, even in this highly Diva laced position.
From a legal standpoint, they were better off not making any comments as to the reasons for his release than what they said. To me it is delusional making all these assertions with no evidence to back it up, let the damn season come and see what happens.

The difference is you can't choose your family but you can choose your friends. So that argument doesn't hold water. And if it was a friend and you are in a high profile position, then you have to distance yourself from them.
Seeing the way the Eagles formed their team post 2004, and then being around the Rams, I saw it's just a business, and championships/post seasons don't do much for teams, except putting more butts in the seats.

I keep seeing this argument made over and over. Could one of the many lawyers here address this? Sounds bogus to me. I can think of plenty of statements the Eagles could have made that would have had no negative consequences.

Gang affiliations or gang ties are simply that. He hangs out with gang members. Is he in the gang I dont know. Has he commited any crimes? None that I am aware of. But that doesnt mean the he isnt affiliated with gang members. If I choose to hang arounf felons I wod be affiliated with felons.

Like what? It is a touchy situation and everything I can think of could end up turning sour.
