      I think you need to read this. He missed multiple meetings and nj.com has stated that the Eagles never said one thing to them about gang ties.

        I missed one meeting probably out of my whole career.
        that's a direct quote from desean jackson. the exit interview doesn't qualify in my opinion and it certainly doesn't impact the team.

        you got anything else besides unnamed sources?

          Now that this article has surfaced, I actually now see a possible reason why the Eagles are not issuing a neutral statement like you suggest and which I earlier this week thought the failure to issue was fucked up.

          I now believe that if he was as big a disrespectful dick as the article indicates (I don't know this to be a fact, but if it's true), then I disagree with you that he's owed a statement.

          If he acted like that to me as head coach, he's gotten as much as I'd be willing to do ... a non-critical statement of why he was cut and nothing more.

            Lots of conjecture but a possibility. I still think Kelly should have stayed above it.

            So what do you think about Maclin wanting Jackson cut?

              Yeah I hear you. I can certainly see why Kelly wouldn't care to. And as I said elsewhere, if that is all true (and I have a feeling much of it might be) then Kelly is well within his right to dump him. Still, if it were me, I wouldn't let the guy get tarnished with the gang stuff if it wasn't the reason I released him. I understand where you're coming from though.

                An Eagles official has actually said they were not aware of the gang ties, and if that is true it clearly had nothing to do with his release.

                That being said, it would be hard for a team to handle this situation much worse. Somebody needs to go on record with something more than what's been said so far.

                  I see your position about staying above it, but I couldn't think of any reason for silence before and now see a possible reason I can't argue too much with.

                  On Maclin ... I don't know if I buy the evil dude twirling his mustache at the prospect of getting a big payday because he'll see more targets his way ... but anything's possible.

                  It's probably somewhere between that and he really thought he was bad for the team.

                  The more important thing for me above all this shit it whether Kelly actually has a plan to replace Jackson's output.

                  Unlike many here who want defense drafted in the first round ... I wouldn't mind a stud receiver.
