most of you guys are too young to have had the privilege and pleasure to experience this top-of-the-foodchain journalist...who was also famous for all the Philly fugitives who turned themselves in to him to (hopefully in their minds anyway) avoid a beating from the cops. When this guy was at the Daily News it was one of the very best tabliods in the nation.

Mr. Stone was on staff at U of D when I was a communications major there in the mid 80s. I heard him speak but unfortunately did not have the opportunity to take a class of his. A journalistic icon. His resume is unreal.
Tuskegee airman. Chicago Defender. Philly Daily News.
Too bad Delaware couldn't hold onto him.
