Yes…because if I go back on it now, that's admitting defeat.

In all honesty, he was a second rounder last year, I didn't watch much UM this year until the tourny so my opinion was based off of last year. He's a top 15 pick at this point.

Now that 76ers locked up 2nd worst record, and they can't catch the Bucks for the worst record, I reckon we'll go on a winning streak from now on! No tanking needed! Let's go 76ers. Show your true color!

Every team that doesn't make the playoffs has a shot. Some, more than others.
Yeah I knew that part of it. And it is only for the first 3 picks then the seed the remaining teams that "lost" the lottery based on record.

Oh I see what you're saying. I misread your initial question.

The Sixers should be able to get a good player with the Pelicans picks. Young, Harris, Hood, Stauskas, ect. Maybe Adrian Payne or Patric Young in the 2nd round?

I'm actually very excited for the draft.

A friend of mine in work said could you imagine the lottery goes like this?

              #1- Boston
              #2- Lakers
              #3- New Orleans
              #4- Milwaukee
              #5- Sixers

No 2nd pick for Sixers, stays with NO in this case.

Odds are highly unlikely but that could happen.

Also, there is a lottery game on ESPN. Link is below. It runs on the real odds. Sixers only won the first pick 2 times out of 10, only lost New Orleans pick once out of 10 when I played it:

Let me get this straight: The sixers have a 19.9% chance at the first pick and they won 2 out of the 10 times you played it?

                SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHH

                HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm a huge Payne fan for the Pels' pick. I think his skill set is a great fit for what Brett Brown likes to do. Sure, he's a little older and he's at or near his ceiling, but he's got a lot of talent and as evident by the Princess Lacey thing, he's one hell of a standup guy.

10 times is a very small sample size! Try 100 times to get a better picture!

                      We do chicken right

The more we look forward to a draft. The more likely they will choke the chicken. While they may have better individual odds than most, they still have a better chance to drop down the draft board. I see this being another Tim Duncan or Patrick Kane type fiasco. They couldn't even tank correctly.

Am I right in thinking that even the 14th worst team (still in the lottery) still has a (1%) chance to grab the #1 overall pick, however?

As Terp and I were discussing…every team that misses the playoffs has a shot at the #1 pick. The lottery determines the top 3 picks. 4-14 is then slotted based on who didn't make it into the top 3 and what their record was.

That's why, with the 2nd worst record, they are guaranteed no worse than 5. If the 3rd, 4th and 5th worst teams won the lottery in that order, the #1 worst team would pick 4th and #2 would pick 5th.

Gotcha. Man, if the Pelicans somehow pull into that top 5 pick (especially #1), I'm gonna lose it.

there is indeed a scenario where the Sixers pick 1 and 2...
