Yeah, definitely not even close to an exact match, but Brees bought a lot of time with his legs, and turned into more of a pocket passer in the pros. I wasn't saying that they are the same player, but Manziel is as likely to turn into a Brees type player as he is a Vick type player IMO.

I like him too. I liked it when he got flagged for telling that guy he wouldn't give him an autograpg following a Td. Don't really see the Tebow comparison - Manziel can throw the ball. I think he might be a pretty go pro.

I disagree. Manziel has a better arm than Tebow, but nowhere near as strong as Vick's. He has zero footwork, isn't asked to go through his progressions and he's built like Vick. It sounds like the perfect recipe for a shitty, scrambling QB that doesn't see the field well and can't hold up through an NFL season.

He's going to run around sailing passes and get picked off constantly, but he'll give you some crazy plays here and there.

Yeah the Tebow comparisons are just stupid. People need to get off Ron Jaworskis nuts, he's the not the Quarterback authority (see his Russell Wilson analysis).

All the haters will be watching every single game he plays next year. He'll make some irrelevant team marketable.

Guess we will have to agree to disagree. I think the Vick comparison is lazy, manziel is a better and more accurate passer, and smart enough to adapt his game IMO.

And I didn't say he was Brees, I just said he is as likely to turn into a brees type as he is a Vick type, could go either way.

Edited to add, Manziel had a higher completion percentage than Brees in college, and significantly better than Vick. He is a better passer than you give him credit for. Just because he can rely on his feet to make plays doesn't mean he has to.

I agree with you. Didn't he just turn 21 also? I think it's silly to think he's a finished product.

He could end up as a total a bust, but I just think some of these comparisons are stupid.

Agreed, huge risk/reward factor. He had one bad game this year, but still almost completed 70% of his passes, and used his legs more to buy time than to scramble compared to 2012. If he is making those kind of strides from his first to second year starting in college, it is silly to assume he isn't going to continue to improve. He turned 21 in December, if he played another year in college he still wouldn't be close to a finished product, let alone today.

He could flame out, but if I needed a quarterback I would definitely take a chance on him.
