    It was actually pretty good

It's not the atrocity that you all are making it out to be. There were a couple of things that were kind of unrealistic, but it was also very realistic in a lot of other ways. When Sonny is in his car and he's listening to sports talk radio, the guys that are talking are the actual guys from the morning show here, Tony Rizzo and Aaron Goldhammer. They even paid attention to details like the actual radio station, AM 850. Also cool to see places that I've been to on numerous occasions in the movie as well. It's not going to win an Oscar, but there weren't any fake teams or any bullshit like that, so I was cool with it. Costner didn't do a bad job, and Jennifer Garner was smoking hot, as usual. I will say that the draft day deal that Sonny makes with Seattle at the end wouldn't happen in a million years, but it's Hollywood, so you have to expect that. I give the movie a solid B+

Money talks. ESPN (and ABC) didn't want to lose that contract.

I suspected as much. They traded some elements of realism for others. If you watch hard knocks, you know there's a ton of swearing in the NFL. But very little (or none?) in the movie - that's very unlikely.

On the bright side, it's nice to watch a movie with actual teams and people. Watching Any Given Sunday with the "Sharks" and "Knights" just sounds bad. It's a decent idea, but without more latitude, the NFL doomed it to be mediocre.

Goldhammer? That's what the mother of Sarasota's finest calls me after I split her thighs.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.
