Does he only exist when he pitches a shitty game?

10:10 start - I'm sure not many got to watch him shut down 20 straight...

guy is incredible. a lot of people seem to take it for granted he's going to dominate almost every time he takes the mound. He's the single best reason to hold out hope that if the lineup gets its shit together the Phils might at least keep things interesting this summer.

I wish I stayed up. It's nice seeing howard hitting again as well. Really nice. The play Utley made on puig was great. I was also enjoying the 87 replays of stairs bomb in 08.

It's not the lineup imo, it's the pen. They are ball magnets

the pen has big problems, no question. but like half the guys in the lineup can't seem to buy a hit. Saw an interesting story on philly.com today saying that the core four vets -- Utley, Howard, Rollins, Ruiz -- are actually all having nice seasons so far. Everyone else has been between average and terrible.

Getting Hamels back tonight should really help improve the pitching situation though you're right, that pen has been scary bad at times.

I wish they were. Everything they throw seems to end up in the seats. If I'm RAJ and I'm serious about contending this year, I think you have to bring up some young guys and see what you can do. Papelbon pretty much stays as the closer, but besides Diekman, Adams if he's healthy and maybe Bastardo, the pen is complete trash.

I'd be happy if any one of those guys had "gang ties."

They should forget about bringing guys along slowly when it comes to the bullpen. Bring Kenny Giles up from Reading right now.

As capitaleagle said the core has been really good. Utley is off to a great start. Rollins is really hot especially considering his recent struggles at tbe plate. I'm really intrigued by Ryan Howard. He looks like he could be healthy, and his numbers the past two years weren't terrible if projected over a whole season. He could hit 35 HRs again.

Cliff is a beast. He's only had one bad game this season. Since then he has a sub-2 ERA. I could care less about all the hits he's given up. They're all singles and he gets out of jams. Doc led the league in hits allowed in 2010. It's not an important stat.
