  • Howie's cards were very predictable in round one.

Short a draft pick, Howie sure as hell would not give away a future pick. The Eagles were a lame duck, sitting there, waiting for a player to fall in their laps.

The other option was to hit the eject button.

I'm only disappointed in the fact that Howie didn't start the 2014 draft with a full deck, because everyone knows he's too conservative to jump up the board without it.

Howie showed what he really is last night ... you find out what a GM is when he doesn't have bullets.

Ray Farmer earned his dough last night. Yeah, he had more picks, but it's what he DID with the picks that gave the Browns a very successful first day.

Mickey Loomis showed why he's one of the best in the business last night.

He wiped the floor with Howie.

He ate Howie's fucking lunch and Howie ate some of his leftover crumbs earlier this year.

That was cute and all, but Johnny Football is a gamble that I wouldn't be willing to take.

Having said that, Farmer did build up enough credits (picks) to justify the risk. He'll weather the storm if Johnny is a bust.

I don't think he's that big of a gamble, they got a shutdown corner to go opposite of Joe Haden, and they fleeced Buffalo for a 1st and fourth next year. Not a bad haul.

How do you know? His two picks might be busts.

                    I Exhaled...

... when they didn't choose Marqise Lee with that pick.

I think they were stuck in a bad place. Couldn't trade up to get one of the six players they coveted and all six were drafted by someone else before 22. This is the difference between drafting after a playoff season and drafting after a disaster season.

I'd rather be a fan of the Eagles today than the Browns. Pretty sure the 2014 season is going to be better in Philly than Cleveland.

Yeah I don't think people realize how valuable that extra third is gonna be.

Its hard to love a reach pick, and this organizations history with similar selections is undoubtedly poor, but they were dealt a curve ball, added a pick, moved back a few spots and THEN made their reach pick.

People need to face the reality that under Reid this this team dealt extra picks twice to make reach picks.

We already have Lee in Maclin. Why take the bust risk for a copy cat player at Lee's best.

You're right. They were stuck in no man's land. In the worst case scenario IMO, it turned out that pick 22 was no man's land.

                            Even though they picked manziel

Brian Hoyer will head into camp as the starter in Cleveland, and Hoyer showed enough even in two games to warrant that. Adding Gilbert to Haden, and also having Karlos Dansby and Donte Whitner to go along with the likes of Phil taylor and Jabaal Sheard, and the Browns' defense doesn't look bad at all. Hopefully, Manziel will get to sit behind Hoyer and not need to be thrown to the wolves.

                              Yup

                              Mickey:

                              Howie:

John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
