  • So the reluctance to move up tells me.....

....that the rebuilding project is not near over. Too many needs, especially on defense.

If they were rebuilding, they'd have passed on Sproles and figured out how to take Cooks.

..I don't think they had enough bullets to play that kind of gam .

      Only six picks.

I believe that was the primary reason preventing them moving up, not from lack of want.

i think howie said that the bills kind of set the market for trading up...and they set it really high and the eagles didn't want to give up the picks that it would take...even just a few picks up.

Took a swap and one third for the Saints to move up for Cooks.

          At a worse draft position.

            More picks equal better odds

and landing some one who can contribute.

We only had 6 to start with...poor pittance and few options for a team looking to find gold.

Our luck, we move up to get Dix for a couple of picks and he blows his knee out in camp( or is a true bum) and we only have 4 new bodies to show for the aggravation.

If I read what Kelly said correctly, they couldn't top the Saints offer of a 3rd, which tells me the Cards were telling the Eagles that's what the price was going to be to move up no matter if it was 2 spots or 7. At that point in the draft, the price to move up 2 spots is usually a 5th or 6th rounder, not a 3rd.
