They made it clear they are committed to Foles by passing on Manziel.

So they want to re-sign Foles. They might not even mind if Foles doesn't put up such big numbers this year.

Foles deservedly would ask for big bux if he has a year this upcoming season like the last one.

I didn't say that in my post, but I think it would naïve to ignore any notion that that was a factor in the decision. Not the "reason", but a contributing factor. Maybe a side benefit.
