  • Eagles wanted Vikings 2nd and 2015 1st rounder to part with No.22

According to Peter King, the Eagles had 6 teams call and 4 solid offers for their first rounder. The Vikings only offered their 2nd and 4th--and balked about adding their first rounder next year; Cleveland's first offer was 26 and a lower draft pick--there was an unidentified team whom made a solid offer but didn't want Manzel--they wanted another player but King doesn't identify either the team or the offer made.

I wonder if Cleveland moved in...

after they could not pull off the Kirk Cousins trade with Washington and Johnny Manzel was plan "B" at 22, Bridgewater is on record saying he would not play in Cleveland, options were limited.

A first next season is a steep price to pay to move to 22 unless the Eagles were moving out of the first round. Everything I've read Marcus Smith would not have been there after pick 34 at Washington.

It was a lack-luster draft IMO, the process mde ratings and the NFL is going to sell a shit load of Ad dollars but the Thursday-Saturday timing in May is going to take time to get used to.

But we would have likely gotten Smith and lost Jordan Matthews. (guess we could have dealt our 4th to move up.)
