Speaking of hard tix, a friend recently gave me a 1977 Led Zeppelin ticket from the Capital Centre. A good seat only cost you $9.50. Amazing compared to the $150 or more you have to pay to see these crappy bands now.

Geezer talk. A loaf of bread used to be 2 cents. Times have changed. Deal with it.

Artists only make money on touring or licensing.

I actually think that once the Baby Boomers die off there will be very few people left who can or will pay more than $100 for a concert ticket. It's like football; why spend the money to go to the event in person when you can have a better experience at home.

When I say this, I am referring to arena type events. Clubs where you are interacting with the other people attending are a different story.

You would be surprised how many $100 plus tickets are being bought by people under 30. The $100 ticket is here to stay.

I agree with what you are saying if you are talking $200. Its really about a $200 ticket now and theres few artists that can command it. Rolling Stones tried to take it to the max and it backfired.

Stones, Justin Timberlake, JayZ/Beyonce, Gaga, Elton, Billy, Buffett, the Who, Tom Petty, Madonna, Cher top price tix are all around $200.

I think it totally depends on the economy. Concerts are not a core necessity for people. Go back to an economy like it was four or five years ago and I don't think the price point could hold. If the economy is ok then yeah. $100 is about what an Eagles ticket costs so it's not out of line relative to other entertainment options. In my original post I said "More than $100".

Diggle's list of: The Stones, Elton, Billy, The Who, Petty, Madonna and Cher are all baby boomers. A part of the die off.

There are lots of factors to consider, but big $ tickets trending downward seems like a reasonable prediction.

                The Killers get that much.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

I spent $100 on Watch The Throne in two different cities. Spent 100+ for Jay/Timberlake and for Yeezus. My younger sister spent $100+ on multiple solo Timberlake concerts this year.

Outside of Hov and Ye, there's no artists I personally love enough to spend $100+ on, but I understand those who would on solo Timberlake. He's a showman.

Awful. Worse than Arcade fire, and that's a feat

but if others doubt the disposable income out there possessed by that generation, just take a walk around Borgata in AC any night of the week. Hard to believe but they are going through cash like KG's incisors through a 'Mingo. I dont know where or how they are making that type of coin but they are out there.
