  • Rough Night For Mouthbreathers

LA Kings in a game 7 tonight, up 3-0. All 3 goals scored by 3 different former Flyers.

Don't worry though, Snider will FINALLY right the ship this year by staying the same course as the last 30 years.

gee, lemme guess, Carter Richards and Williams?

Let's HOPE Hextall is the answer and finally does things the right way. I'm liking Chief as coach and looks like the Flyers FINALLY look like they have a goalie, so that's a start.
YOU KILLED TED YOU MEDIEVAL DICKWEED!

Last 4 goals in the NHL playoffs are by former Flyers, the 3 you listed and Briere for Montreal.

Your post is exceedingly disingenuous... Those trades of Carter / Richards were a quite atypical Flyers move in that they tried basically attempted to make moves for the future, acquiring young players for their vets rather than sacrificing youth in order to "win now" (Pronger, Bryz [thus sacrificing Bobrovsky], JR, Ellison for Sharp [shudder], Adam Oates, Justin Williams for Danny Markov [although that almost ended up well], etc. etc.).

Carter is the only one of the recent losses (along with Richards and Briere) that sort of stings, but you have to consider the return... Voracek (best Flyer in the playoffs IMO), Couturier, and Nick Cousins (probably won't make the big time but you never know). Richards had been relegated to the fourth line multiple times this year and has been called the new Shawn Horcoff (not a term of endearment). Do you still want Danny B and that contract around? Let's be honest, those guys weren't going to win a cup here with the current team as they don't solve any of the main issues that currently exist (namely, a true #1D and a strong D corps).

I'm all for shitting on the Flyers when they make dumb moves, but they are FINALLY taking the time to draft and develop some youth and look towards the future. Hextall sounds like a GM who will let that philosophy play out, but fans have been burned before so who knows.
To run with the big dogs you have to be a big dog, dumb fuck.

I don't follow hockey, I have no idea if the Flyers moves involving Carter and Richards were good or not.

I didn't read any of your reply outside of the first sentence. Nothing against you, I just don't care about the Flyers or the NHL really.

I was more pointing out how it's typical for players to leave Philly and thrive.
