There is no question they need to take advantage of their cap space. I'm pretty sure they didn't even reach their Salary Floor this season. Take on short, bad contracts for these types of draft picks. Early reports have a lot of teams looking to move out of their spots (Sac, Bos, LaL).

Sacramento will definitely consider that deal. They don't want any more rookies or super young players to add to their roster. They want a veteran who can defend. Thad fits that criteria.

You toss in one of the 2nd round picks, or take a contract off their hands that they don't want to pay anymore….

They wanted Thad last year, so they clearly have interest in him.
