I Remember Watching The A's On TV

There were two elderly brothers who lived in an apartment at the end of our street and one of them was named Gus. Years later I recalled this when I read a story about Gus Zernial -- the play-by-play guy said Zernial was batting third with Elmer Valo fourth, and I asked my dad if Zernial was "our Gus?" I was either 3 or 4 years old at the time.

I believe I even have Obbie whipped in the "tree ring" department!
