  • I need a restaurant reccomendation in Phila.

    Here's the situation.

I have friends from Spain who are going to be visiting Philadelpha. They are going to be there the night of June 14.

Don't want to go to a Spanish place (like some of Garces' places) b/c I don't want to start that comparison.

What would you recommend? I want them to have a good memory of Philadelphia.

Last place that we went to that I would highly recommend looking at was Sparga right next to the Kimmel center. When we went it was a 4 course menu where you each choose from 2 or three things from each course.

There are also all of Vetri's places that are all good choices, all different modern Italian places.

You Can't Miss With Ruth's Chris

Had a steak the other night that was out of this world.

        Did they tell you?

        It was a Wal-Mart steak.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

I Don't Care Where They Got It

All I know was it was juicy and cooked to perfection -- out of this world.

Isn't It A Bit Early To Be Sloshed?

Sober up before you post again.

Two places that are exceptional are Bibou and Vernick. Been to both multiple times. 2 of the best in The city. Bibou is BYOB.

I'll add in Butcher and Singer too, if they are looking for high end classy steak joints.
