I've seen some dumb things in my life.
Many of them from my own team making dumb FA signings and trades. I can admit to that.
No doubt.
But to just flat out cut the dude? DeSean "freakin' Jackson. The Redskin, Giant & Cowboys killer?
Instead of controlling where he would go.
like I don't know..?The AFC maybe. lol
I mean, sure...You may not have got the compensation in a trade like he was easily worth, but to have him not come back & haunt you easily added a non-tangible value as well.
Many teams at that time had LOTS of cap room like the Browns Raiders and others.
Plus it was before the draft. Why rush the cut?
Eagles easily could have got a 3rd or 4tfh rounder. Just because of the talent alone.
The contract wasn't cheap for a trade, but not impossible to make happen either.
Plus, we've seen re-negotiations in trades just the same. if the contract was the issue.
But most importantly...He would be OUT of the Division.
And how does this NOT make the Eagles weaker on O?
I mean..Chip did great last season.
But lets not get carried away here.
It was his rookie season as coach.
WITH Jackson...lol
Did anyone think that MAYBE Jackson's respect as a gamebreaker, opened the field up for Mccoy? At least a little???
So not only do you NOT have Jackson, this could potentially impact Mccoy in a bad way.
And the redskins now have the same threat that the Eagles had.
With garcon.
We didn't have a jackson.
And we know that Morris was getting it done without a player of that caliber.
So this opens his game up some more.
Again...next to maybe the Rams passing on RG3 @#2 and letting a Conference foe take a Franchise QB and keeping Bradford. When they could have traded RG3 to the browns and got the same type of deal...
This was a really questionable move, guys.
And now...RG3 may have the weapon he needs to kickstart his career again after a rough 2013 season, recovering from injury.
You improved the Washington Redskins.
Not to smart there, Chippy.
NOT smart at all.
Sorry...I had to get this off my chest.
back to the cave I go now...lol
