  • The more I watch Exum I think he may be a great pick

Him and Carter-Williams would be a sick duo, tall enough to get their shots/pass over smaller guards and big enough to dribble inside and finish against taller players.

Can't shoot. I don't mean Exum. I don't mean MCW. I mean both of them.

I've come around to Embiid. Take the risk, it's worth the potential reward. Take rothdawg's boy Stauskas at #10 and go from there. You'll be lottery next year and can add a SF.

I wouldn't mind them picking Exum one bit, but I also thought Evan Turner was going to be able to play a little bit. If the medical records don't show long term danger I would rather Embiid, this next season should be another lost season so him being out for 6 months doesn't really matter.

I think they have to try Embiid. Exum might evolve into a great NBA player, but I just don't think he's going to be the next Chris Paul. The Sixers have the medical records for Embiid, supposedly. If they see actual red flags, then of course don't draft him. But if they don't, they gotta gamble.

I've come around to this strategy as well. Although I'm still not sure that Julius Randle isn't the second best prospect in this draft (behind Parker.)

But, if they did due diligence on embiids injury and they are convinced he is a franchise changing center, they should do it. However it should be made clear to Sam Hinkie that the consequence for being wrong on either the talent level of embiid or his injury history will be termination. This is the type of gamble that makes or breaks careers and this guy should be no exception.

There are two great picks in this draft.

Unless the Sixers pull off a miracle, they will get neither of them.

To me, picking Exum only allows the team to hedge a bet on already having a guard that can't shoot the ball from further than 15 feet. Possibly, one of the two of MCW or Exum will one day be able to shoot a basketball with some degree of accuracy acceptable to most. With the Sixers luck, both of them will be proud members of the Brick Layers Union for years to come.

That's not true. there are more than two future all stars in this draft. Further, I guarantee that, when all is said and done, Parker and wiggins are not the best and second best players to come out of this draft.

There are some gems in the the bottom 28 of this draft. Hinkie's job is to draft that player. The all is lost defeatism is just giving this new gm the leeway to blow this draft.

So why did Hinkie tank this year? With all of this talent, it makes me wonder why he even bothered. Don't forget Embiid wasn't even on the radar prior to the season. I must be missing something.

Never said he would be a star in the NBA, but i think he has upside and potential to be more than serviceable. To me that is better than drafting another cripple. He seemed unselfish and ultra quick for a bigger guard, of course he and MCW could work on outside shooting but they are still young. MCW was rookie of the year for a reason, these dudes both are fast breaking, driving types who either dish or finish inside over bigger players pretty damn well from what i have seen. I think it would give us a unique guard setup for sure, I would start them both at 1 and 2, one of them would always have a mismatch to exploit.

Im afraid MCW is too fragile

                            to last in the league.

there is a problem with all of the guys in the draft.

wiggins is freakishly athletic but sometimes he defers too much, his shot is meh and sometimes when he dribbles he reminds me of iguodala...but he's very good defensively...and he can definitely be coached though.

parker...everyone knows his offensive ability...but the knock was/is that he's out of shape and not as athletic as the other draft picks so that could hold him back against talented big men or smaller players. recent photos actually show him in shape so maybe he is quicker and faster with being in shape.

embiid...so many injuries but his upside may be highest.

i'll be happy with either one but i wouldn't trade up for either one because it's not like there is a shaq or lebron in this draft. can't say kobe because he went 8th or whatever so no one really knew what he was going to do.

i seriously doubt hinkie is making it known what he is going to do in the draft...last year know one really had a clue what was going to happen till it happened.

Exum...meh...not going to lie...don't know much about him but knew he was being talked about almost all year long.
