What are you basing your assessment of Kelly on?

That's my point. There IS NOTHING on which to base an assessment. He showed a bit of potential under Reid's coaching staff but didn't set the world on fire. Then he needed back surgery, and did precisely squat for Chip's coaching staff.

Given the tendency for back issues to linger with offensive linemen, I see nothing in Kelly's history to indicate we should put any faith in him. He might turn out to be serviceable, but if Barbre is starting and Kelly is our best backup rating a mere "might be serviceable," I'm feeling pretty nervous during that 4-game stretch.

Also, the fact that Roseman described the team's failure to draft a lineman as a "dagger to the heart" does not seem to indicate they have much more faith in Kelly than I do.
