With Bron going to Cleveland, Bosh is now set to go back to his hometown of Houston. They need to do some serious cap-dumping in order to sign Bosh and keep Parsons.

They will give up a first rounder for taking a very expensive Jeremy Lin off their hands. The 6ers might even get more than that...

Lin is not great, but for the first rounder, a large salary-dump after this season, and a decent backup PG, I think it's a great move.

If I had to guess, the Lakers actually see Lin as part of their puzzle next season. Right or wrong (wrong for sure) they might think they can still compete, and have to do whatever they can while Kobe is still playing.

To the Sixers, this is a salary dump, and Houston has to entice them to take Lin off their hands.

To the Lakers, they'll get an asset (a pick or another player) but they'll also get a guy that will contribute in Lin.

Because the Lakers actually WANT Lin, the Rockets won't have to sweeten the pot as much with LAL as they would with the Sixers.

For Hinkie, theres no point in doing this deal if it doesn't bring you back the right amount of assets.
