  • Lin to Lakers

Whatever the Rockets were offering the Sixers, it probably wasn't worth it.

Not worth it. Lakers got their #1 pick, not the Pelicans. Could pick mid to high 20's with that pick in a weak draft class. Lakers wanted Lin more than the Sixers. Sixers wanted the Pelicans pick.

Houston picked 25 this year. They're going to have more or less the same team. The West will shake out to be about the same, give or take a few swaps in the standings.

Pick 20-25 would still be a nice asset, but they could still end up getting an even better asset later with the cap space.

I have no problem with Hinkie not pulling the trigger.

Idk why Mitch Kupchak went for it. At least force them to give you more than just a late 1st. Lin's a 1 year rental, so if you're not getting any big fish, I guess it's not a crippling move, but I really think he could have gotten more. Motiejunas and Jones or something. I don't think they can trade the Pelicans' pick yet b/c the Asik trade has not yet went through.
