It's all quite a shock. My wife works at the next building in Mercy. They are connected by a glass bridge. Even though she doesn't work there, she was in that office an hour before the shooting dropping off some paperwork.

She knows the doctor and said that he is the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. I think she's surprised that he returned fire. I guess people react differently in certain situations.

I'm hoping that she wasn't close to the caseworker. She's not sure who it is.

It seems all so surrealistic.

Glad she is safe, I suppose it could have been much worse, I guess I was just surprised by a doctor packing, I mean I could see a doc out here walk into an exam room with a colt strapped on, but I just can't envision that in Philly.

BTW my niece just transferred from Hershey Med Center back to Philly, but I'm not sure where she is working out of.
