    if Davis can't get us out of the bottom half this year

    They played well the last half of last season, relatively speaking at least. Didn't give up a lot of points. There was plenty that concerned me last night but I'm going to reserve judgment until the real games count. I will say that it seemed like he only rushed 4 on a lot of third downs which never worked. Hopefully he was just keeping it simple.

      I haven't researched this, but just looking where he's been, it looks like Davis is good at laying a foundation for someone else to come in and have a top 10 D.

        he's never coached a Dee over 15

        meaning the guy has NEVER COACHED A DEFENSE into the top half of the league....No pass Rush = Chicken Bones!

          Vanilla + playing a lot of scrubs to see how they do = meaningless.

          It's the same deal every year. If the preseason has any purpose, it is for evaluating individual players, not the team. We will find out about the team when the games mean something.

                    Im not judgin the guy on a preseason game

                    in fact I want him to suceed,,,last night the Ones got had very easily thru the air,,,looked like the same defense as last year..Now it was vanilla and I do understand these games are for Evaluation....the pass rush was non existant without the Blitz..thats not all Davis, the team will look diff with guys like Curry rotating in ect..
