  • Another PR win for Comcast.

    tl;dw

Guy gets charged $82 for Comcast install that he was told would be free, only gets his money back because he recorded the original and followup calls. Comcast says that his recording was part of the negotiation to not charge him for things he didn't receive or authorize.

Sounds like Daisy is from the Philippines. When I need to call any customer service agent, Banks, Airlines, Verizon. AMX, ETC, I ask where they are located. I won't deal with anyone outside of the US or Canada.

I don't think Daisy's location is the real issue - and perhaps bigger companies can/already do offer premium support for an additional charge if you want to get fucked over accent-free.

No matter the location, the call-center employees are simply following protocol. It's the policies and overall business practices for how customers are to be treated (given their captive audience status) that are the real problem.
