Air France bumped me off a flight last year so they gave me a voucher for 800 Euros. Unlike here, they have rules in the EU about things like that.

I was skeptical if it would work but it did! The flight is Air France but is operated by Delta. Maybe Air France can bump me again this year!

It was a little sneaky.

I had to book the flight via a EU website, since the voucher was in Euros, not
Dollars. First time I tried on the US Air France website it did not work, then signed in through their Spanish site and it worked!

Now I'm sure I could have done it if I had called them.

But I was always dubious about this voucher since it was all in French. It wasn't clear to me if it was an apology or a voucher.

But it worked, and even better I got a straight flight to and from Madrid. No connection in Paris, etc. Probably gonna take a side trip once there but this is great. Begin and end in in Madrid.
