When Shonn Greene and LT were running the ball well, playaction passes to a healthy Dustin Keller was a pretty potent play for Sanchez.

The Eagles have a good run game, and athletic pass catching TEs. I think the big year we expect from Ertz would be even bigger if Sanchez had to play significant time for Foles.

Jim Plunkett started out his career on a high note (rookie of the year) like Sanchez. For the next 6 seasons, Plunkett sucked due to injuries and shitty OLs (kinda like Sanchez). He had 85 TDs to 118 INTs in his career before taking over the Oakland Raiders. All he did then was lead them to 2 Super Bowls.

I'm not saying Sanchez will win two Super Bowls like Plunkett, but to immediately dismiss a guy, especially as your backup QB, by using stats in a vacuum isn't always smart.

This system seems to fit his style well, and he shod do well if pressed into service. I do like having a backup who has done more than hold kicks and clipboards.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better backup than Sanchez. 2 AFC Championship game appearances (the only 2 years he had solid weapons around him), and he actually played well in those playoff games. Of course, the hope is he only has mop-up duty, but I thought he was a fine option for a backup

I wasn't a big proponent of the guy when we brought him in

but I will say after seeing the guy play in the system I would be very comfortable with him if he had to step in..Also I threw it out there about trading the guy considering his old OC was with the Rams,,but also stated,,no way would I trade him now,,trade Matt.. Im willing to give just about anyone a chance,,,including Chip.....a lot of Closet doubters out there still.

I wasn't thrilled when we picked him up but I figured he'd be at least decent in this system. Put any QB behind a shaky OL without much in the way of weapons and he's more than likely gonna suck....forcing passes into tight coverage.

I gotta say he's impressed me greatly so far...a nice surprise.

I'm a WVU fan and I'm expecting Geno Smith to improve significantly now that they've brought in some real weapons to help him out. He walked into a horrible situation last year.... a rookie QB's worst nightmare.
