I keep hearing from those on the right that Obama is dividing this country

You don't need to show me an article to say that Democrats receive money from big business. SE was complaining that the freeloaders won't vote Republican and based on the pretty well known notion that elections are fueled by money as well as votes, plenty of companies that take tax money want Republicans in power.--

Is he doing all of that, or is it the tea party and republicans ? How exactly is Barack Obama the one who's causing division ?--

Regardless, the two authors that you linked have been anti-Obama and generally anti-Democratic party since before Obama was elected or early in his first term.
I don't even know the point you're trying to make. There are native Americans that think the term Redskins is ok. Well then, I guess the topic should be dropped, right? You quoted an article from a newspaper with well-known bias, written by contributors to a news station with well-known bias, both of which are owned by a company that is the world leader in conservative biased news.
And you expect that your point and that article would mean anything other than to those that already agree with the concept that Obama sucks?
Bloomberg and Crist supported Obama. I guess that means he's great then, right! They're Republicans so at the very least it cancels out your article.Last edited by TerpEagle; 09-05-2014, 06:38 PM.--

Well done
So instead of arguing with the points clearly and concisely laid out by these two democrats, your only response is try to discredit them via association. The point isn't that Obama "sucks", it's that he's been divisive. And you've contributed absolutely nothing to counter the assertion. Gee, right out of the Obama-Nixon playbook, what a surprise!Last edited by Riccardo; 09-05-2014, 06:44 PM."I could buy you." - The Village Idiot

Furthermore it's incredibly laughable that Obama is blamed on being divisive on things such as race. The only way Obama has been divisive due to race is that fact that he was black when he was elected. So yes, from that standpoint, he's been divisive from the start. If only he was white then there would be no division over him because of his race.
Oh I know, it's not about race. The TEA Party popped up because they finally got sick of the way the GOP rang things when a black Democrat got elected. And yeah, Fox News was just doing due diligence by referring to Hussein every time Obama's name was on the screen. It must have just been a programming change based on issues unrelated to Obama.
Also, it's Obama's fault that conservatives, from the start, said that their goal was for him to fail. I mean, if he had just failed like they wanted rather than get re-elected imagine how much less divisive it would all be.
And it's his fault that he nominated people he felt were qualified for government appointments that weren't the same people already in place. Had he just kept Bush's appointees then Congress couldn't have held up any appointments and things would have gone smoothly and imagine the lack of resulting division.
And it's his fault he didn't just provide his birth certificate to the public from day one. It's un-required and only idiots wanted to see it but if he had just bent to their underlying racist motives there would so much less division.
Pretty much, it's all Obama's fault. It's not a meme for conservative, it's the truth in their heart of hearts. Aside from all the division above, if his policy doesn't fit what the GOP wants - he's divisive. It's a bullshit argument. He's been faced with extreme opposition from half of the country he leads before he even started.
Maybe that's politics in general nowadays and Obama isn't perfect. In fact, many progressives feel that he's given too much to the other side and in fact is GWB-lite. But you're blatantly ignoring the fact that the tactic to defeat Obama since 2008 has been division. This isn't just some assumption made by liberals or Democrats, it's a publicly stated philosophy.
So yeah, your article sucks and it's ridiculous to hold up the people that wrote it as some sort of "even his own guys think he sucks" premise.--

The way I see it
[QUOTE=Riccardo;1772387]And they lay out a pretty good case IMO.
Now I'm sure someone like terp will say this poll means only that all republicans are racist this has nothing to do with Obama's policies...

If Obama was a republican and had the same policies and platform, the same people who so vehemently oppose him, would be his biggest cheerleaders because he's their guy. It works the same with the Democrats as well. Just vote both parties out of Washington, and let's try something new.Last edited by Eagle In Ohio; 09-05-2014, 07:15 PM.The truth is incontrovertible.
