  • RIP Bad News Barnes

only 62, but a lot of people probably thought he was already dead.

Sixers first round draft pick but he opted for the ABA. He and Ernie DiGregorio were the shit for Providence in the late 60s...until Marvin assaulted a teammate with a tire iron.

Once refused to get on a plane because of time zones it was arriving "earlier" than it took off. "I ain't gettin' on no time machine," he famously said.

    RIP.

    And the pick before him?

    Bill "the space cowboy" Walton.

Another Philly Sixers near first round miss.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

Obviously I am not a doctor but...

...it would not have surprised me if the guy had been what we now call bi-polar. He was a tremendous rebounder and inside scorer but could not get his crap together off the court.
