It's my dad's birthday. And I am very thankful to be able to wish him a happy 76th birthday today. For a while it was looking like that might be in doubt.

Happy Birthday to your Dad--on the flip side, my own father passed away on this date in 1994--he was 59. Died of lung cancer. I had moved here to England only 5 days before and didn't have the money to go back for the funeral. It took my brother's death in 2007 for my family to forgive what they percieved was a slight. However, my Dad told me I had been separated from my family enough--they had moved back in Feb of 1994, and my staying wasn't going to extend his life.
