  • Just stating the (very) obvious......

After seeing the lengths to which the NFL went to whitewash the whole Ray Rice affair, it practically boggles the mind wondering about all the shit that was swept under the carpet when Rice's mentor (yeah, no shit) Ray Lewis walked away from that murder.

    Exactly.

They tried to whitewash this one as well but it became impossible to do so after the video of the actual moment of the assult became public.

It's all about image. That's why the NFL cares more about protecting the integrity of the "game" rather than actual problems that occur in part due to the money that flows through its league every week.

Money talks...the PR campaign is underway

            Corporate America issuing statements:

Marriott Hotels released a statement saying,
“As a league partner, we are closely following the situation. We trust that the NFL will address the matter appropriately.”

            From FedEx:
“We value our relationship with the NFL. We are watching developments in this matter closely and we are confident that the League will take the appropriate steps.”

From PepsiCo: “Domestic violence is completely unacceptable. We are encouraged to see the NFL is now treating this with the seriousness it deserves.”

Several team owners are issuing public statements backing Roger
Circle the wagons ! Execute the PR campaign !

League + Networks + Advertisers all have too much to lose. Nothing will change, NFL will polish the turd and move on, same as Spygate.

The fact that Rice told them he hit her was something I did not know until today.
