That's a video of Carruth's son that survived the attack. I was really young when that happened, but I do remember hearing about it on ESPN. For those of you old enough to remember how sports coverage was back then, how much did this story get? I remember some but not much coverage. Probably the worst crime committed by a NFL player ever, even if you consider OJ guilty (which most of us do).

The article made reference to Daryl Washington pleading guilty to assault of his ex-girlfriend. That's news to me; either I never heard that or the media didn't really make enough fuss to bother taking note. Did Washington get any punishment from the team or the NFL?

It's going to be interesting to see how many athletes get jammed up for domestic abuse now that it's so in the spotlight. Also interesting that the woman in the Dwyer incident left Arizona in July, but only came forward about it now that it's such an issue of focus for the NFL.

She probably just feels a little more empowered now. She might actually get some support and be able to overcome the fact that he is an NFL player now that other players are being taken down.
