Chip is correct in stating that the 49ers do not run the read option nearly as much as most people think. However, when they do run it from that pistol formation, you need to tell the ILB and OLB coaches that Kaepernick tips his hand 100% of the time.
When Kaepernick keeps the ball, he puts the ball in the RB's belly with two hands.
When he gives it to the RB, he uses only one hand.
