Had a chance to see Robert Plant last Saturday

Tremendous concert. One of the best I've seen in a while and I've seen some good ones recently.

I liked his new material so much that I went out and bought his new album. That doesn't always happen with performers who have been around for a while. And the old Zeppelin stuff was great.

Don't know if he will make it to Philly anytime soon but if he does, I'd highly recommend going. RSE and Ken, he's playing in Toronto tomorrow and according to his webpage tickets are available.

You can watch his concert from Sunday night via a (authorized) link on this webpage:
The rock legend and his new band performed live at BAM in Brooklyn. The show was part of the Nonesuch At BAM festival, and you can watch it in its entirety right here.

To be honest, he doesn't sound very good

He should stick to his new material only. He just stays down in that chest voice and rarely comes up into that head voice we are so used to from those great Led Zeppelin albums. Maybe it's because Led Zeppelin was my favorite band growing up. I listened to those albums over and over and over again and know every note. Listen, he got old. We all did. He just can't hit those high, almost-screaming runs anymore.

            Love how you explain Falsetto

its a young man thing..I smoked alot..Mine is pretty destroyed.... He had many years as the greatest singer in Rock and Roll...the Heart concert with Jason Bonnhams band sounded spot on.

I thought he sounded GREAT! And I bet you would have enjoyed it if you had been there.

I agree he can't hit the high notes the way he used to. Actually I think he could pull it off a lot better than he did in the concert but he has to hold back because he can't do it day after day on a tour without blowing out his voice.

              Setlist:

              Poor Howard
              Thank You
              (Led Zeppelin song)
              Turn It Up
              Pocketful of Golden
              Rainbow
              Going to California
              (Led Zeppelin song)
              A Stolen Kiss
What Is and What Should Never Be
              (Led Zeppelin song)
              How Many More Years
              (Howlin’ Wolf cover)
              Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You
              (Joan Baez cover)
              Fixin' to Die
              (Bukka White cover)
Hoochie Coochie Man / Whole Lotta Love / Who Do You Love
              (Led Zeppelin song)
              Encore:
              Nobody's Fault But Mine
              (Led Zeppelin song)
              Little Maggie

It was at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. A great venue for a show like this.

It's always tough for the singers who rely on that

Then you take a guy like Paul Rodgers, who lives down in that chest voice, and he STILL sounds amazing.

The lyric that was rough watching that Plant thing was.....

Catch the wind, see us spin, sail away, leave today, way up high in the sky.
But the wind won't blow, you really shouldn't go, it only goes to show

I saw him last night at the BAM. He opened up with No Quarter. Great show as usual (this was my 13th time seeing him live). I watched the game down the street around a bunch of Gunts fans. Game sucked but the show as awesome!

He didn't play "No Quarter" on Saturday, so I guess he is mixing up the old stuff a little but not much.

I loved that he did some blues covers. They were some of the highlights of the concert for me.
